Working as an agent and then agency manager for several insurance companies for 18 years, Reed Miller decided to start his own captive sales agency in 1987. Along with his two sons, NIBC was founded in the relatively new worksite business selling life insurance and critical illness products. Initially the company worked with state and federal employee groups focusing mostly on union employees representing several insurance companies in Arkansas and the south and southwest. Two years later, 1989, NIBC incorporated and focused on the federal and US Postal market enrolling 200,000 federal employees that still have their policy today in most cases. NIBC grew under Reeds direction operating in 47 states including Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands.
Mr. Miller retired in 2005 leaving three of his six sons and two daughters to build on his success. 37 years of working with the most dynamic sales people, Reed now spends his time traveling the world vacationing. When he and his wife of 48 years are home they attend school activities and sporting events for their 25 grandchildren. Reed is also very involved with his church.
Today, NIBC still continues to service and establish new accounts each day in the federal market. We have added a national sales team in the senior Medicare Market and Life Insurance representing the best companies in every state in the nation.
Our philosophy and goal is the same as it was in 1987, to offer “First Class Service” to our clients and agents every day! – Alan “Reed” Miller, 2004
